Jun 25 2007
June 25-29, Health Systems 20/20 will conduct a workshop for 10 local consulting firms and NGOs that provide technical assistance and training in health systems strengthening. The overall purpose of this activity is to develop a model that will improve the capacity of local organizations to provide assistance in health systems strengthening. Each participating organization will send a two-person team to the workshop, one of whom will be the director of the organization.
The workshop will be to train the directors and other senior staff that participate in how to develop their organizations. The training will focus on the special set of challenges that relatively new and small organizations face. Training will include such topics as strategic planning for small organizations; development of a business plan; assessing and strengthening key management systems such as financial management, contracting, and human resources; building an effective team; management and leadership; and developing an organizational structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities. The participating organizations have been identified.
