Health Systems 20/20 developed the handbook for health insurance workshops in Africa, collaborative events supported by the USAID Africa Bureau, Health Systems for Outcomes (World Bank) and the African Development Bank, among others.
Health insurance is a means to protect populations – often excluded from existing government programs – from the financial burden of health care. The handbook, a practitioner’s guide to implementing health insurance in low- and middle-income countries, helps users navigate the many challenges to adopting and expanding health insurance.
