South Africa - Country Brief
This brief compares South Africa’s health system with that of its peers in sub-Saharan Africa and in the upper-middle-income group of countries. Additionally, it presents an overview of the South African health system’s strengths and weaknesses in order to highlight some of the challenges faced by health programs, particularly for HIV/AIDS.
