Health Financing and Management in Belize, Volume 6
An analysis of the current public sector pharmaceutical and medical supplies procurement and distribution system provides technical input for the health financin component of USAID/Belize's Management (FPPM 3 Fiscal Policy Planning and Project). This report documents the major problems in public sector drug management in Belize and presents options to resolve the problem. This report presents a framework for forecasting the quantity and cost of necessary drugs and supplies to be used to estimate financial needs. The report also identifies several options to improve the procurement programs managed by the Pan American Health Organization/Fonda Rotario de Medicamentos Esenciales (PAHO/FORMED).
