Benin
HIV/AIDS Program Sustainability Analysis Tool
As part of the Health Systems 20/20’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of African regional institutions, the project is supporting the Institut de Santé et Développement (ISED) in Senegal to conduct an HIV program sustainability analysis in Benin. Partners are using the HIV/AIDS Program Sustainability Analysis Tool (HAPSAT) to quantify gaps in financial and human resources needed to implement Benin’s national HIV response. Health Systems 20/20 and partners will share HAPSAT findings and engage HIV stakeholders in a data-driven discussion on key barriers to sustaining the HIV response. Analysis of HAPSAT data and feedback from stakeholders will inform Benin’s national HIV strategy for 2012-2016.

As South Soudan edges towards war with Sudan, life for women will likely get more difficult. Joy Mukaire of the Christian Health Association of Sudan (CHAS), a Health Systems 20/20 collaborator, tells us how despite the setbacks she’s helping other women access quality health care.
