Democratic Republic of Congo
Health Systems 20/20 currently has three activities underway in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: conducting a National Health Accounts (NHA) assessment, providing institutional strengthening for the Kinshasa School of Public Health, and assessing performance based financing schemes. In addition, the NHA includes an expenditure tracking element focused specifically on water, hygiene and sanitation.
Institutional Strengthening of the Kinshasa School of Public Health (KSPH)
Health Systems 20/20 is implementing a three-year institutional strengthening activity at KSPH. The activity includes two components – institutional strengthening and a scholarship program for MPH and PhD students.
National Health Accounts
The NHA assessment provides the Ministry of Health with comprehensive data that reveals the flow of health expenditures through the health systems, providing critical data to policymakers. Working with the MOH, the project will develop estimates for subaccounts for reproductive health, child health, and HIV/AIDS.
